  • Email address - when you subscribe to county exemption updates
  • Consultant directory submissions - business name, contact name, email, phone, website, city, region, services, and practice description when you submit a listing

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information through:

  • Google Analytics 4 - page views, session duration, device type, browser, approximate geographic location (city/region level), and traffic sources. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish users. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.
  • Vercel Web Analytics - anonymous page view counts and performance metrics. Vercel Analytics does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information.
  • Server logs - IP address, browser user agent, pages visited, and timestamps. These are retained for security purposes and automatically deleted after 30 days.

How we use your information

  • Email subscriptions - to send county-specific exemption updates, deadline reminders, and practical tips. We use Listmonk, a self-hosted email platform, to manage subscriptions and deliver emails.
  • Consultant submissions - to review and publish your listing in our consultant directory. We may contact you regarding your submission.
  • Analytics - to understand how visitors use the Site, improve content, and measure the effectiveness of our pages.

Cookies

The Site uses cookies primarily through Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help us analyze site usage and serve relevant advertisements. Data retention

  • Email subscriptions - retained until you unsubscribe. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Consultant submissions - retained as long as your listing is active. Contact us to request removal.
  • Analytics data - Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per our configuration.
  • Server logs - automatically deleted after 30 days.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Unsubscribe from emails at any time using the link in any email
  • Request deletion of your consultant directory listing
  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
  • Opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the browser add-on linked above

Children's privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
